Messy Graphics Cards Cables.

Hey guys, so as you might be able to see in the second photo, my cables are a mess. Last night I used some twist ties to make them look a tad better, but they're still rather messy. Is there any other molex cables that I can buy? part of the issue is that the cables have connectors all the way down the line, and there's actually multiple cables connected together. What can I do?

Why are you using adapters instead of just the pcie cables from the psu?

Plug it in and then re route where other connectors meet behind the motherboard.

your 850 watt PSU dosn't have 2 6 pin connectors? I find that hard to believe. Check to make sure you don't have them (the 8 pin cables normally break down into 6 pin).

I agree with FoxHound, there should be 6-pin harnesses included with that PSU. If not, you can make your own...its fairly easy and not very cost prohibitive.

Agreed. Use the 6 pin connectors instead of extensions. Also, (can't really tell in the pic) if your PSU is modular, run the cables from the card first and then next to the motherboard and behind the case where you're managing the rest of the cables to the mobo. Then plug them in at the PSU. If it's not modular do the same in reverse.

The OP has a Silent Pro M2 850 which is modular.

I really don't know. When I build my rig I didn't exactly know what I was doing. I'm going to dig through all my cables and see if I can find the actual 6 pin connectors.

Guess who just went into his Mobo box and found 2 6 pin connectors. How convenient.

You could just do it now--it's very easy considering you have a modular psu.

Yeah, I would, except there's one thing I have to mess with.

 

My first SSD is flush and touching the bottom of the tray. All of the SATA power cables I have look like so. So off that cluster fuck of cables, there is a 4 pin molex cable hanging free, so I'm running one of these guys off the 4 pin, to the first drive. So what I'm going to have to do, is go to my shop, and try to get a Sata power cable that isn't right angle, so it can actually get into the drive on the bottom of my double SSD tray.
