I need help on this pc I am planning to get soon, here is the link:

http://www.ebuyer.com/666520-yoyotech-warbird-980-gaming-pc-eb1014i7k980?utm_source=google&utm_medium=products&gclid=Cj0KEQiAwaqkBRDHx6rzxMqAobgBEiQAxJazJ1af0l50CeI1e2Vc9lIoVR5agMn1R_JpvLOSENtNNF0aAsvL8P8HAQ

I have a few questions about it if somebody could help me out please:

  • Is this PC worth it?
  • How will it perform in general usage and playing games?
  • Would I be able to overclock the CPU?
  • How would I upgrade the RAM? Do I need the same type of RAM stick?
  • Is the CPU fan good enough to cool down the i7 4790k? and also with overclocking?

If anybody has any suggestions or a cheaper, better option to go with I would love to hear it, a link would be nice.

If anybody could help it would be fantastic

SOME OF THIS MAY SOUND STUPID BECAUSE I AM NEW TO COMPUTERS, THANKS.

Yes you can OC, it will preform great in almost everything, but i would say its overpriced. I cant see info on crucial parts like the mobo, cpu cooler, etc. Besides, pre built machines have a stupid high markup.

I presume your budget is around the listed price of the machine?

I get off work in 1 hour. Unless someone else beats me too it I can make you a build when i get home that preforms better, and is cheaper.

Gaming Build:

Peripherals:

  1. You could try building the same on https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/ to see how the price comes out.
  2. It should run really nicely for gaming.
  3. If you read the text it comes pre overclocked.
  4. Another 8Gb maybe, 16 should do you fine, 8 won't be a bad experience though if you don't have loads of things open at once. If you are buying it after goto Crucial Memory and they have a memory matching app and are priced well.
  5. Unless you are running it in a very hot place it should be fine, you can always add more cooling.

You did fine until you used caps ;)

Yeah my budget is around this price, and I really like the look of the GTX 980, building me one would be great.

I built it on uk.pcpartpicker and it actually turned out more expensive than buying it pre-built.

No, it's not worth it.

The CPU is overkill, you don't seem to be doing anything that warrants an i7.

The GTX 980 doesn't perform particularly better than the 970, despite costing nearly double so it's not something I can recommend

8GB of RAM is plenty for most people. I personally wouldn't bother with more.

And I wouldn't recommend that CPU cooler. If you're serious about overclocking, don't get a slim cooler that's aimed at silence.

The pre-built is cheaper then buying the parts yourself. Let me Answer your questions-

1.YES it's worth it.. I would buy it but i don't live in England  :(

2. It will get you OVER 100 FPS in almost any games 1080p MAXED

3. Yes you can overclock that cpu as long as the computer comes with a Z87/Z97 motherboard chipset

4. TO upgrade ram you need to buy a ram stick and watch this vid-

Plz don't be and idiot, I do know you're knew but plz get the same type of ram sticks

5. No the normal cooler not good enough.

Thank you... Do you know any good, fairly cheap coolers that will be able to keep the cpu cool whilst overclocking?

DO NOT BUY IT YET!!!!! We can list some parts for you that will way outperform that system for the price.

i5-4690K - £183.78

2x GTX970 SLI -£551.95

Asus Z97-AR - £113.96

Vengeance Black 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz - £65.76

Cooler Master V750 - 80+ Gold - £90.88

Crucial MX100 256GB SSD - £80.70

Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 - £79.48

1TB WD Blue - £69.72

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - £25.34

Total price (rounded up): £1264

So now that I've completely and utterly destroyed that prebuilt gaming PC in every possible way short of an operating system (but you can get Technical Preview for free right now), I'll let you in on a little secret - I can still whittle that down a fair bit.

I'm not buying my PC yet. I'm doing my research before I purchase one, looking to get one in about 1-2 months though.

The K designator means that it has an unlocked multiplier, so yes (although thats not the only property you can change). However, if you are new to the assembly of computers, i highly suggest learning how to build one properly before overclocking. Its not hard to learn mind you, but it does require some advanced knowledge.

Seems like a great machine. Although, it might actually come out cheaper, and maybe even more powerful if you build it yourself. Or if you aren't up to it, find someone to build it for you. I don't know if NCIX will still build machines and than ship them to you for lower than almost any prebuilt machine. But if you do, that might not be a bad idea.

Is it bad that my dream setup only costs a few thousand not counting the obutto?

Yessir! That's a beastly beast right there. Well, minus the PSU, but it can get the job done. I'd replace it for a better OC on GPU and CPU. Actually, in the full description it tells us that the CPU is already OC'd to 4.4GHz. That's a mild OC for that CPU. If I were you I'd play with the settings to see what I can crank out of it, but 4.4GHz is fast enough for any A Grade modern games.
