Would it be smart to put a devils canyon processor or wait untill skylake or broadwell in my PC

Probably wait. As long as the price difference isn't too much for just 5% performance increase

Rumors say skylake will be released in 2016, but again they're just rumors. Broadwell isn't worth the wait, unless you will be using the onboard graphics. I'd get Devil's Canyon, but if you REALLY want that Skylake then wait.

PS- does anyone know if z97 will work with skylake too?

As far as I know it is 1151 socket. So probably a chip set change.
