I've already posted about my planned upgrade to mini-itx twice:

and I've gotten limited responses, but valuable insight. I put together a final definitive list today:

I already know some of the downsides of this setup; SATA II only, so it would slightly bottleneck my cheap Kingston V300 SSD, reducing speed by 20% from 466 MB/s Seq. Read to ~375 MB/s. Only 2 USB 3.0 ports, but I really only need 2 anyway. The H61 Chipset needs a BIOS update to support Ivy Bridge. The PCIe 2.0 x16 slot won't really impact my GTX 750 TI performance, but it's still older. I am using 3 RAM slots so the new motherboard will only allow 2.

People tell me I need to upgrade graphics, but I can play all 1080P games at near maximum settings. CPU is older gen, but upgrading is not going to give me any major benefits either. Stock Cooler for the 3770 is also fine with an upgraded fan, so my temps are always below 75 degrees Celsius. I know I could get better performance value in a m-atx or atx build, but I'm going to mini-itx for portability.

Total budget for this upgrade is $300, but I'd be willing to go a bit higher if the component's performance is worth it. Any objections, Or should I go ahead and order?

I am conducting some polls regarding your opinion of large technology companies. I would appreciate your response.

Microsoft Apple Valve Google Facebook Oculus HTC AMD Intel Nvidia
