Sounds like a bubble trapped in the pump. Try turning the case upside down. I had the same thing happen with my pump res combo and I had to drain it and refill it to get it working right. No idea why the bubble wouldn't come out but it just wouldn't.

so basically it's happened about 3 times over the past 2 months originally i thought I didn't have enough coolant.,since I topped it up was working fine till today.,turned it off.,when turned back on the pump doesn't work. shake it checked the molex,connector.., do you think it could be from the radiator being above the res.,and pump?

Well if the pump isn't turning on then it sounds like the pump is bad. Check the wiring to the pump and make sure it's not pulling out. You could also try another molex connector and see if that fixes it.

maybe an air bubbles in the radiator?

After 2 months there shouldn't be any air left in the loop so I don't think that's it. The pump should be in warranty so you may want to switch it out.
