Power Strip/Surge Protector?

Hey guys, i'm not really sure where this thread should go but here it is. What are some of the best surge protector/power strips on the market in terms of price, reliability, # of plugs, and features? And which ones do you guys personally use?

uhhhh generally they're all pretty much the same, just make sure you get a surge protector instead of a power strip, you can tell em apart because surge protectors have a "reset" switch on them.

Most will do that job just look for one with high joules rating, it's a basic way of looking at it but generally a good rule of thumb, as for brands, APC, Belkin, Tripplite are all good.

Unfortunately it's hard to tell the difference between good ones and bad ones, without reading detailed reviews on.

 

However, as long as you don't buy it at the Dollar Store, then it's probably good.

 

Make sure to get a high protection rating for a PC (I usually go anywhere from 2500 to 3500 Joules of protection). And then for the rest, just get the features you want. Obviously any real surge protector will have a reset switch. Otherwise get the number of Outlets you need/want, and whatever additional features you may want (RJ11 phone passthru, Coaxial Cable passthru, etc).

I've also got some Phillips ones that are pretty good.

 

APC is great for anything power related. Their UPS's are excellent.

Yeah can't really go wrong with surge protectors and for APC their UPS work great even though i have one is way past it's recommended 3-4 year replacement for a battery.

If you happen to have a Costco or big box store this one I fairly like personally it's layout is nice and has basically everything for you'd ever want to surge protect.

I use that one as well. APC is one of the best brands out there. Tripp Lite is good too. You can pick that one up at Sam's Club for pretty cheap too.
