I'm looking to get myself a late Christmas gift of a 21:9 monitor, particularly the

LG 29UM65 which Linus made a video about here

the 2560*1080 resolution is perfect for my 970 + FX-8350 and as Linus said in the video it has decently fast response times, IPS etc etc

But I need to know that the games I play will support it other wise I'm just wasting my money. Here are my recent games

Call of duty Advanced Warefare

Shadow of Mordor

Titanfall

Borderlands 2 the pre-sequal

Tomb raider 2013

Pay Day 2

Have you seen a 21:9 monitor in person?  It is hard to look at and seems more for productivity / work than anything else.  Seriously if you haven't seen one in person do it before you buy one.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

I probably will but with Linus's praise of them I'm quite interested plus I know it's through a video but it looks amazing

i suggest a 27'' 1440p monitor

That was the original thought but a 970 I think is more suited in terms of performance for the 2560*1080 and the ultra wide screen form factor seems pretty awesome. Have u tested both 1440p and 2560*1080???

I had the 34UM65 and UM95 and returned both. It's cool at first but for gaming the cool factor wears off once you run into games that don't support it correctly or at all. Go with a 16:9 monitor and save yourself the headache! If you want it for productivity then it will be nice but not for gaming.

I don't agree. It seems like the majority of games well atleast my games support it besides from a few expections like COD Advanced Warefare. Even so i can just run it as a 23" 1080p monitor
