if you are able to use ethernet connection, keep using it and see if the issue stops. It can definitely be the OS acting up with your wifi adapter. Some people have the same adapter and same OS but different hardware setup so I guess it varies from build to build. Is your OS up to date?

Well its ethernet wireless adapter :P not just plain ethernet.. We have fibre optics so the internet box is in the opposite side of the house. As for my OS its always up to date or at least I always check everyday.

Dunno if this is related, but sometimes when I start up skype after a restart it can cause my pc to freeze for a few seconds at a time until it loads it.. Its rare has only happened a few times. I don't expect skype to take up that much of a load on a gaming pc when its starting up...

you got software problems. too much runing and the wrong stuff running. did I see skype above? and that's just the tip of the iceburg.you need to shut stuff down not just "turn it off". ( msconfig box....start up and services.... start killing stuff ) see what happens.

It has froze during reinstalls before, and it has froze right away. It even freezes when idling with no browser open or applications on. But it mostly happens while watching videos and sometimes while gaming.

I have very few things running at start up or in general. Startup already set to not turn on anything but the OS itself, and services tab was already played with before. Any other ideas?

take it to a shop. let a tech look at it. Everything that was suggested I doubt was tried. I get the feeling you're too afraid to really delve into it. It's not going to fix itself and I really don't want to trouble myself anymore with it. Stuff like this reminds me of a word I hear once in a while......... TROLL.

1) Everything that has been suggested I have tried, just because the suggestions that were given to me which I am thankful for people trying to help doesn't mean I have not tried them.

2) The only suggestions I have not tried were the ones to reformat the drive or reinstall windows, and some tests since I have done things like reformats and reinstalls, and testing already so they were not needed since they wouldn't help.

3) I am glad you tried to help, and although your suggestions have not helped they were things I could add to my list of things I have tried incase someone else asks me to do them.

4) Also which part of this sounds like a "troll" I don't get how asking on a tech forum about a problem I have had is considered trolling. Its a real issue that I would like to get fixed.

5) The only tech shop around my area is a Best buy... enough said.

LOL, how did you know I was thinking of BB?............. LOL

remember a couple of pages back where I suggested that single core cpu for around $30?  Now is the time you need to start investing because you don't have the "extra" parts to swap out.

edit: did i mention to check for bent cpu pins?

Haha, and I have been sick the past 2 months so I haven't worked so bank is a little low. I will probably buy a "test" cpu within the week. As for bent pins I checked it before and nothing was bent that I could see.

Antivirus programs scan files as they're accessed. They're designed to catch things that come in and are present on the system. In addition, antivirus programs can and do remove viruses from the system(Granted, it may be through a system scan). Not sure where your information is coming from. Fact of the matter is, YOU'RE WRONG. Antivirus programs don't "trust" things because the user allows it through. That would be dumb.

OK, bad example saying AV "trusts" anything. That was just a way to explain it. But what you've said here is exactly my point. AV scans files as they are accessed/downloaded/added to the system. Not afterwards. If you access a file and your AV comes back and tells you no, but you then tell the AV "nah it's fine, go ahead and open this anyway" then the AV is going to ignore that file and almost anything that spawns from it. Because you the USER have allowed it through. The simple fact of the matter is once a virus (98% of them at least) is on your computer a simple AV scan is NOT going to remove it and YOU'RE WRONG. I'd like to see a simple AV scan remove a rootkit or a java exploit or cryptowall. I'd like to see your AV remove driver update or pc optimizer pro. I'd like to see a simple AV scan fix the damage viruses and malware have done to your registry on it's own. Sorry, but that just doesn't happen and it takes specialized scanners and virus removal tools to remove and repair that damage.

So let's use an analogy. Viruses are like vampires. They can't come in the house unless you tell them they can. But once you give them permission they have free reign. They will dig themselves way down deep into the roots of your file structure and registry and I'm sorry but a simple anti virus scan is NOT going to fix that.

And FYI, I work at a computer repair shop. 85% of my job description is virus removals and I see this crap every. single. day.

Tried both win8pe and win8.1pe both I couldn't get to work because both got "Can not detect windows 8/8.1 source" and also got "IniRead - Failed to find file: [%BaseDir%\Projects\Win8.1SE\project.ini]" and "Access violation at address 004041F2 in module 'Win81SE80_Builder.exe'. Read of address 3F0028C1:  [Run,%projectdir%\script.project,SetReadEnvSelect,#1,#2]" Any ideas?
