A couple of questions about my next build.

CPU:AMD FX 8320/8350 (can't decide which one)

MBO:Gigabyte GA-970A

GPU:Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 Gigabyte Windforce edition (I heard that if you OC this GPU you can almost get GTX 980 performance?)

Cooling:Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO (I plan to OC the CPU)

RAM: 8 GB Corsair 1600 Mhz (2x4)

Storage:60 GB Kingston SSD (for OS), WD Blue 1 TB 7200 rpm HD (and going to reuse my 500 GB WD Blue 5400 rpm HD)

Case:Cooler Master K380

PSU:Antec 550W 80+ bronze

Optical Drive:ASUS x24

I plan on playing at 1440p/4K and I have a 1080p 60 hz monitor so I was wondering can I even go above 1080p?

CPU: Intel Core i5 4460 3.2 Ghz \\ Motherboard: MSI H97 PC MATE ATX \\ RAM: Corsair 2x4 GB 1600 Mhz \\ GPU: Asus Strix GTX 970 4 GB DDR5 \\ Storage: WD Caviar Blue 1 TB, 7200 RPM and an external WD Elements 1 TB HDD \\ PSU: Corsair VS650W \\ Case: Cooler Master K350 \\ Optical drive: Samsung R/W 24x \\ OS: Windows 10 64-bit \\ Keyboard/Mouse: Both DELL \\ Display: Samsung 28-inch TV 1080p 60 Hz \\ Phone: Samsung Galaxy S5 Electric Blue 16 GB

Seems like a nice PC build

Like @jayctech said, People are going to most likely criticize you for choosing AMD over Intel haha.

Oh well (I use Intel myself :D)

The FX line is insanely cheap at least where I live.

Unfortunately, your monitor is only 1080p so the max resolution you can play at at the moment is 1080P. Seems like a solid build.

Just some preferential things :) :

  • the AMD FX processors throw out a lot of heat so go easy on the OC if it is a daily driver
  • Go higher up on the OS drive, 120 GB Min, 240-512 recommended...it will help with a bit of future proofing.
  • No real difference between 8320 or 8350 but i would go with the 8350 if price is right for you.
