Hey,

I recently bought Assassins creed unity and i'm playing at a bare 30fps.

And I know this game is not completely optimized, but I heard there were patches going around where patch 4 is the latest one.

My question to you is: Are these patches downloaded automaticly or do I have to manuel download them?

The patches are around 6gb each, so that's why i'm wondering.

I just need to know if uplay does this automaticly or not.

You still need crazy hardware to run it at 30fps, at least on the gpu side, to get 60 fps you need at least a 290x or 780.

But are all the patches downloaded automaticly by the launcher or do I have to download them manuel?

It should be automatically. When you are connected online it checks the game version to what you are running and downloads updates accordingly.

Download latest Nvidia beta driver. It was fixed for me

What about us AMD users? Fuckin Ubisoft leaves us out in the cold. I mean, seriously, it's like they have something against us...

Omega driver improved Unity performance significantly for AMD card.

This same scene previously i only get 20+ fps, now 50+fps with the same settings.

I have the AMD R9 270X as GPU and i7 4790k as CPU, will i be able to run unity? :/

Just fine, you'll have to reduce some details to maximize FPS potential, but it will run fine.

The Catalyst Omega driver really did Fix a lot of performance issues for my machine...and others.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

So? Ubisoft didn't release the Geforce driver as well.

The facts are that the game runs far better on Nvidia cards than AMD ones. Personally I can get 35-40FPS on low settings, but I have a $300 card. For peat sake I get a better framerate running Crysis 3 on High...

then stop buying Ubi games.

That's the problem. I love Ubi games, I've been a massive Assassins Creed fan since it's inception and until this year, Ubi was one of the better triple A studios, when watch dogs came out it went to crap for them.

It's the same story with EA. Dragon Age and Mass Effect are 2 of my top 3 favourite videogame series of all time, and they are made by bioware and published by EA. I couldn't stop buying their games because I enjoy them far too much.

What you expect? They are a long time Nvidia partner.

Don't bother with low setting, the problem with the game is hundreds on screen npc and you can't do anything to reduce it.

So in most Ubi games if you have Vertical Sync (or Vsync) on and your frame rate dips below 45 or so consistently the game will lock you into 30 FPS. When your system is then capable of running at over 45 consistently then the game unlock the fps.

Anti-Aliasing seems to be pretty crushing on this game. I have a 980 and on ultra with TXAA on I was getting ~47fps. If I turn AA off I get 60 fps locked in (because I have VSync on because of some wicked tearing).

My advice to immediately improve performance: Turn AA off.

The NPC's arent the problem, it's the instruction queue getting overloaded, ironicaly using Mantle over DX11 would alleviate this issue entirely.
