So I just put my HDD into a 5 1/4 inch bay, it's held into a HDD cooler with 6 screws. I noticed it's been making loud noises, I can only really tell when my headphones are off. Anyways I'm wondering if this is because of the screws? Before it was just held in a plastic bracket in one of my HDD cages, but I needed to remove those for water cooling. It seems to have just started lately! Oh ya it's WD Black 2TB.

you can take some noise tapening srews and secure your HDD in place so it doesnt vibrate

it could be because the HDD is rattling because the mounting is not secure enough

I once mount HDD into the DVD drive bay which are tool less bays and the HDD rattle like crazy without any screws

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.
