You can get a dynex keyboard and mouse for like $15. Super cheap. That said, I haven't made the switch to mechanical yet.

Yes.

Yeah I'm looking into possibly buying a wireless card myself. Do you know anything about the performance difference between cards and USB adapters? I need to be able to establish a strong connection at the distance I'm considering. I use wired connection now but I would like to be able to move around my PC freely when I feel like it.

I don't believe there is any noticeable difference. But if you want a stronger signal, I reccomend getting a router range extender. Or you can use an old spare router as an access point.

What's a router range extender? I have a router / modem.

Pretty much what I'm thinking at this point. However, if there are some networking things in the price range I think I'll go for them.

I know there are some good powerline adapters that are sub-$50.

Basically, it just lets your router be accessed from further away. There are also repeaters, which are similar.

However, it would be best to ask the networking subforum, as I am no expert.

****ING AUTOCORRECT!

*Throws phone out window*

*Powerline, and they are either net, no need to worry about dual band and whatnot.

I've heard mixed things about powerline. But I guess you won't know until you try it, since it depends on your wiring.

If it works well, then it'll be better than wireless, I'll tell you that much. See if you can borrow from a friend, or see I'd you can return items from the place you bought it.
