Is it possible (DDR2)

I have recently found my dual channel kit of Team RAM (Xtreem Dark) and I was wondering if it is possible to overclock it alongside a Kingston HyperX stick. They are all at 800MHz stock, and the Kingston is rated at 2v while the kit is rated at 2-2.2v. I also have another 2GB stick from Kingmax, and a low profile 2GB from Kingston (both 1.8V) and I am unsure if they can be overclocked. The last thing I'm not sure about is whether overclocking the RAM will negatively impact the OC of any CPU I use.

To my knowledge, yes it can be overclocked. However ram performance often gets worse at higher speeds. If you overclock the motherboard it will boost the speed of everything running on it. (HDDs, CPU, Ram) Which will overclock the ram. However you can usually manually set a clock speed for the ram. Its your call, but with most memory you wont see almost any performance gains and it will kill components faster.

Thanks, its just the HyperX and Xtreem are designed or overclocking, and I want to know if I could actually OC them side by side since I've only been OC'ing the CPU and graphics card.

You can but it's not really worth overclocking the ram imo. I overlocked my DDR3 1600Mhz to 1866Mhz and there was no perceivable different when i ran game benchmarks. Btw why do you have a core 2 duo and DDR2 with a GTX 970?

The Core 2 duo rig is my main one whilst my new computer's issues are being sorted, so it gets the 970. And I only get about 20% throttling so I still have better performance than my 650 ti. (cpu maxes out most of the time though since its doesn't have the i5 4440)

and with DDR2 is worth overclocking because the gains can be pretty significant 

try this

1066Mhz @ 5 5 5 12  tras 26 2t @ 2.25v 

and see if its stable there

I'll try those settings with a before and after benchmark, my rig currently has the ram at 800MHz, 1.8v due to the kingmax stick so if things go well I should be able to hit that OC with still more headroom.
