as long as the one with a higher wattage capacity and output is plugged directly into the wall, theoretical there shouldn't be much issue. I personally wouldn't do it.

Still though,, its probably a bad idea in general

I don't know.... I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't be, but I can't give you a defiant answer.

Is it bad that my dream setup only costs a few thousand not counting the obutto?

Why not just buy a high quality UPS that is reliable, also you should check your UPS and do maintenance to them from while to another, I would suggest your reading the manual when for example that your UPS battery is getting low and others...

Back to your question I can't see a reason it wont.

I can't see a reason you would do that a UPS isn't to run a PC on for a while, you use your UPS to save your work for example when the power go out, I really can't find a reason to do that maybe use the UPS for other valuable machines like a TV.

You said your father is a technician why not ask him ?

There will not be a increased safety, As i see it there would only be adding more points of failure.

It wont becomes safer, Just more messy And if one of them breaks it would still interrupt the entire chain.

A part of my work as a electrician are pretty much checking for stuff that has with UPS systems and such.

But modding one to have a higher charge may work.

How many Amp Hours do they have? Id say just one would be enough for a couple of hours if it only is a router/wifi that needs power.
