Hello techies I am wondering what the maximum overclock on a 4790k would be.

Temps arent an issue as i get 60 celcius at 4.7 ghz with a 1.25 1.265 voltage

Im wondering if i can get possibly a better overclock to use for just video editing (not gaming) to speed it up a bit, without degrading it.

Damn, be happy with that. That's a pretty good overclock.

I find those numbers a little suspicious, and you aren't really asking a question here.

Assuming the information is correct, you obviously know what to do. What is stopping you from just increasing the numbers..

If i try to 4.8 ghz i just freeze instantly and i have to give it 1.3 volts to get it running stable. I dont really feel like running at 1.3 volts lol

Well i was wondering if it would degrade my chip at 1.3 volts very fast if im just rendering videos

Keep at 4.7, your not gonna see a difference from that to 4.8

Even 4.5-4.6 is good if the temps get to high for your liking.  mine idles at 18-19c

I believe that 1.3V is the highest rated voltage for a recommended 24/7 operation on these processors so you can stretch it to 4.8GHz if you want to and your temps stay within limit as you say. Although you will get better benchmarking scores I doubt that you will see any actual performance increase in day to day usage. It's up to you mate. I it were me I would overclock it to 4.8GHz, just because I can and leave it that.
