Haven't turned my pc on in 4 months since just returning from Alberta for the holidays, my pc was running perfect before I left now it freezes on windows 7 startup. Tried to boot to safe mode but it just gives me an option which to boot first(hard drive, CDROM etc) need help on how to solve this thanks

F8 is the correct key to press right after the BIOS splash screen

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Where in the startup process does it freeze? Also, what key are you pressing to get into Safe Mode? Like dragoon was saying, you should tap F8 repeatedly after you power on and the menu to access Safe Mode will appear. Let us know if Safe Mode works, because that will indicate it's a software issue.
