It'll be fine, just manually set the timings to be the same across all RAM modules.

is it hard to do?

EDIT: Would this work better?

Yes, those would work better with the RAM you currently have, OR you could just go to the BIOS, and then manually change the timings on all RAM sticks (some mobo like mine have an option to just put it into 1 module and then span the same settings out to all other modules).

No it's not hard to do but it requires that you go into your BIOS and change things up.  Your best bet to alleviate any problems in the future and possible headaches: buy another set of your current ram which will net you a total of 16gb of RAM. Timing and voltage will be the same and you can run the XMP for optimum settings.  From what I understand, you can only change timing as a whole and not individually per ram chip.  If you can, then I stand corrected and would love to learn how.

I mix ram on my workstation I have 2x16GB 1600MHz and 2x8GB 1833MHz sticks and the system runs fine just clocked down to the lower frequency automatically.
