Hello everyone so this would be my first time building a pc now I don't have a lot of money just a looking for decent parts. At the moment my build goes as followed.

Crucial Ballistix 4GB DDR3 1600 RAM
AMD A8-6600k 3.9GHz processor
Asus A78M-A FM2+ motherboard

LEPA 500W power supply

Umm I'm still looking for a case I already have the power supply and I don't have enough money to buy a GPU at the moment. My goal is to keep it under $240 and I really want to know if the motherboard and processor will be good together. I've been reading the reviews and some people say they need to update the bios before using the processor and I don't know if that will end up happening to me

i would seriously suggest getting a little bit more moolah together before you do this.

sub $300 builds will generally give you some VERY poo performance :c

4690K // 212 EVO // Z97-PRO // Vengeance 16GB // GTX 770 GTX 970 // MX100 128GB // Toshiba 1TB // Air 540 // HX650

Logitech G502 RGB // Corsair K65 RGB (MX Red)

You do have a point at the moment the computer I'm currently using (Pentium D 2.80Ghz 2GB DDR2 RAM) isn't really doing that well and I would like to at least have a little upgrade if any.

Better that, than getting a 240 dollar build. Trust me.

That woudln't be able to run a single game, if that's what you want to do on it.

It seems impossible until it's done.

That is what I'd go for. I actually have that processor and ram although I suggest mITX builds. It might cost $20 more for that though...

G3258 @ 4.5 | 8GB Team Vulcan RAM | 128GB Kingston V300 SSD (I didn't know what I was doing when I bought it) | MSI H81I Motherboard | Corsair H55 with Noctua NF-P12 | EVGA SSC GTX 960 4GB | OCZ 550W Fully Modular PSU with Noctua NF-A14 | Cooler Master Elite 130 (Soon to be something cool)

Then what kind of buget do you think I should go for?

you need to say what you intend to use the computer for, location, if you have a monitor, O/S etc.

I think for a real cheap build your looking at a min of $500 to be a half decent system.

its possible if its just for work etc to not need a GPU and then i would recoomend looking at the AMD FM2 / FM2+ APU build options.

anything less that $500 if you want for games then you might as well just get a PS4

got to love Asus components

Man if you want a pc for the price your just gonna be during the Internet look at my posters and you'll see a decent $400 AMD build and if you get the Intel build those guy posted make sure you have a CPU that will 100% work with the bios of the motherbaord becase the CPU might not be supported then you'll need to update the bios and you need a CPU that will work with it to do that and if you do t then you can't use the pc

@pooka117 Well no. The question is what games do you want to play? A large majority of indie games are awesome and most aren't that demanding of high-end hardware.

Well at the moment I'm not really into the whole AAA titles just something to play League of Legends and Tera and Blade&Soul when it releases

Sorry the build will be for gaming and I don't think I need anything to high end for just a few freee to play games

Yeah and even a lot of free to play games require quite a decent setup. Warthunder a F2P game will not run on the 240 dollar setup, TF2 will probably not run or will not be playable, F2P games are not low spec if you think that is how they are. Get 500+ dollars and then come back for a better build.

Check the minimum requirements for the games you want to play.    My son played Spore with the integrated graphics in a dual core Pentium G6950.   Of course the settings weren't very high.  So from my experience it would depend largely on your expectations of performance.  I would imagine an AMD APU would yield decent gameplay, but I haven't bothered to check minimum requirements and compare to any APUs.   It would definitely be worth the time to check that stuff out.

Ya, maybe.

@pooka117 A Corsair CX500 would only add $5 more.

the only pc part you cant skimp on is the PSU

Ya, probably true.  In spite of some people's opinions, I think Corsair power supplies are fine.  I have three.  Two CX and one CS.

i always go with EVGA just to be safe i dont see why corsair would be bad but i just trust EVGA

Corsair PSUs are fine. The EVGA G2 tend to be cheaper and better, so why go with the inferior product?

The reviews of Corsair's on the revered jonny guru website are very good.  I'm sure it's just personal preference. They're all solid units from what I read; can't go wrong either way.
