Depends on the scenario:  Usually when people ask me for system lists, depending on their budget/usage I tell em what to go for.

 

Then if they are more lenient towards one camp, I ask why, and explain why switching may be a good benefit.

 

Either way I don't care, :D

i try not to be biased, although i'll admit i lean AMD for a number of reasons... one of which being that it offers an equivalent performance at a much lower price point. i'd definitely take AMD for budget-oriented builds or when using software that benefits from the extra cores, but i'd much rather go with Intel when i need the absolute best with price no object (eg: 3930K) or if i simply want something that i know will work with pretty much everything.

here's one thing i don't like about Intel, though: they change sockets and chipsets every CPU generation like they were underwear. AMD turns the underpants inside-out and extends the wear time by three weeks.
