First Mechanical Keyboard

Hey guys, so I've seen most of mechnical keyboards out there and I really like the concept of it. Iv'e been lurking around and trying to find the right one for myself, but I always keep changing my mind.

I like the concept of having backlit keys, I currently have a RazerDeath Adder 2013 mouse and I'm really liking it so far. So I'm thinking a nice green/blue backlit keyboard would go really well with the color scheme. I'm thinking that the Razer BlackWidow 2013 would be perfect to go along. The design looks really nice and the LEDs as well, but I've heard that the keycaps and the overall build quality isn't as good as the Filco's or Ducky. So I think I've narrowed it between these 2 brands. Ducky and Razer.

 

I'm not sure about key switches, something for gaming and typing. Most likley blue or brown?

 

Anyways, could you guys share opionions and main differences?

PS. Where can I find Ducky keyboards in Australia? I've checked all the retailers and they don't have any Green LEDs blue switches.

Blue = tactile & clicky actuation force 50g

Brown = tactile with no clicks actuation force 45g

 

There's few model from Ducky Shine II comes with PBT keycaps. While Filco doesn't(so far). I'll try to get the brochure here.

For gaming and typing CherryMX Brown would probably be the best, allthough you should really try out all the different switches, if you can of course. Find what fits you the best!

 

And then I can really only say, that Ducky manufactures probably the best mechanical keyboards.

 

Maybe you can find a keyboard with Brown switches and which is green backlit?

What exactly are PBT keycaps?

 

Different material keycaps. Most mechanical keyboard keycaps are ABS material. Simply put, PBT is better and in theory more durable compared to ABS.

 

As for Ducky vs Razer, hands down Ducky. Hopefully you can find a retailer around your area though ><

Only it it's available in his area >< He could order online but I don't know if that will be too expensive :S
