My current HDD is 8 years old.

That WD Blue is the latest FZEX model of the blue line up, it is from 2012 and is the best HDD from WD for the money

You could also look into the green drives they are inferior to the blue drives but there capacity are normally bigger for the same price as the blues  

 

Overall you can't go wrong with the blues,if they are not used

If you want a higher end HDD then look at WD's black lineup, but otherwise the WD Blue is the best 1TB HDD.

I have always had a good experience with WD, my 14 year old 20GB WDC drive still works!! Not too say I have had a bad experience with other brands but I just prefer WD
