that's a shame, so i'll keep having to upgrade it :(

It's a monster of a card though. Should max out anything today at 1080p. it's a hefty step-up from a 7970, and that maxes out most things at 1080p. Probably not going to be viable for five whole years, but it will certainly remain a decent old card.

will it be able to play stuff on like medium or low at 60fps, and the processor too, would it be able to keep up

 it depends entirely on the games you are playing. For AAA titles with massive graphical requirements in the next five years, your GPU and CPU will probably not do very well. But if you're going for games with lower requirements (there will be loads) then your card will still remain useful. Today, loads of games that are literally ten years old (half life 2, for example) are still extremely popular, and it goes for graphics cards as well. Luke put a GTX 480 up against a PS4 once and the five-year-old graphics card absolutely destroyed the PS4 in everything, so if that is anything to go by, you will probably still get pretty reasonable gameplay on your hardware five years from now.
