Hello everybody, i am looking to build my own computer but i just don't know how everything works yet. I have a list of the things i am looking to get.

Intel Core i7-3770K

MSI Z87-GD65

Corsair CMT8GX3M2A1866C9 8GB (2x4GB) Dominator GT

EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB

Corsair HX-650 V2 80 PLUS Gold Power Supply

Corsair Hydro Series H80i CPU Cooler

So the question i am asking is are all these parts compatible and will they work together well. This is my first build and i am aslo clueless on the extra things i will need like the cd drive etc so if anyone could provide a list i would be very grateful.

Thanks for your time

you either need to change it to a 4770K or the motherboard to a z77.

Your CPU is a i7 3770k and your mobo is a z87 mobo, the z87 mobos are made for the 4xxx .ie 4770k/4670k. CPU's. Also get the 3570k and a 670 or 680, if you really want the most out of your system when it comes to gaming. You will be much happier with that. Other than that everything is fine

OS - Windows 8.1 Motherboard - ASUS M5A99FX Pro R2.0 Processor - AMD FX 8350 Black Edition RAM - 16GB 2x8 Crucial Ballistix Sport Graphics Card - Gigabyte Windforce 2 OC GTX 660 Power Supply - Corsair CX750M CPU Cooler - NZXT Kraken X60 Wireless Adapter - ASUS PCE-N15 PCI-E Adapter Fans - x3 Masscool blue LED 120mm Fans Case - Fractal Design Define R4

For a gaming build, you'll want to pour your money into the gpu. Cpu's are quite powerful nowadays and a decent one will do just as well as a high end cpu in gaming.

I'm not sure what you mean by a few hundred since that's quite vague.

$170 more for a gtx 780 instead which would be your biggest upgrade.

$70 more to upgrade to a 250GB ssd to allow space for games. (It helps greatly with loading times.)

$30 more to get a 2TB hdd instead, $60 more for 3TB if you need more storage.

$35 more to upgrade to 3570k (little noticeable upgrade. It'd be more noticeable if you have 2 or 3 780's in sli)
