PS2 Build

Go to solution Solved by bobhays,

Woops I made a bad example what I meant was my build was 153(ish) watts what im trying to figure out is should I get a 160W power supply or a 200W power supply

I would go for the 200 just to be safe, do you know the price difference? Also considering the 750ti can use around 60ish maybe more watts at load, and the cpu is another 50-60. Thats 120, then add hard drives, motherboard, and efficiency lost (these are all small but add up) and you are close to 160 at max load.

So I recently was given a broken PS2 (the original bulky model) and I thought why not put a PC in it. So I gutted it and now I have a hollow PS2. And I was looking at parts for my build and knowing I couldn't fit a regular power supply I started looking around the Internet and I stumbled upon DC-DC power supply.

So all i'm asking is how many watts should I need for my build?

SPECS

CPU: Intel Pentium G3220- TDP

GPU: Zotac GTX 750 TI

MOTHERBOARD: Asus H81I-Plus

RAM: 4GB Team Elite 1333MHZ

STORAGE: Corsair SSD

So I know that with regular desktop power supplies that you shouldn't get a 200w power supply for a build that's gonna be taking up 190w. Does that line of reasoning also apply to DC-DC power supplies.

Sorry if what i'm saying is completely wrong or sounds dumb to anyone who's more familiar with things of this nature.

You'll only need 153W's so a 450 is fine.

does the dc-dc power supply have the right connectors if so could you link it because I'm interested in those. Also the computer should take less than 350w (in case you were thinking of 440)

No acording to Pc part picker this build should take up 150(ish) watts
