When I upload a file to DropBox does it get stored on their servers or do users download directly from me like a torrent? I already know how to use DropBox I'm just curious about their service because i want to delete the files off my PC and I'd like them to stay online for download.

its stored on a server and their programs match the conent on the servers so you can have it stored locally as well.

It is stored on their servers however if you delete it from your computer and have the Dropbox application open (or open it after deleting them), then it'll delete the files from their servers too.

I copied the file from my desktop to the dropbox folder on my computer can I keep the one in the folder and delete the one off my desktop?
