Everything looks great! apart from maybe changing the CPU cooler to a Hyper212 Evo (kinda the go-to around here) I can't recommend many other changes. Solid build here!

(Maybe consider a WD Green drive, they're dirt cheap for 1-3TB storage)

NCASE M1 i5-9600k  GTX 1080 FE Z370N-WIFI SF600 NH-U9S LPX 32GB 960EVO

I'm a self-identifying Corsair Nvidia Fanboy; Get over it.

All in all it comes down to $1505, $5 over budget :)

With the WD green drive it costs the same here in aus :)

And with the "cm cooler" there are none left in stock :(

Stick with the cryorig cooler... the r1 is on par with nh-d14 afaik. A thing to consider tho: the sidepanel window on the s340 is extremely soft - it scratches immediatly even from fingernails :/

Core i7 4820K  |  NH-D14 | Rampage IV Extreme | Asus R9 280X DC2T | 8GB G.Skill TridentX | 120GB Samsung 840 | NZXT H440  |  Be quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 650W

Really well i'll probably end up heavily modding the case so i'll change the window to a different material :)

Have to say, this looks terrific for a first-time build. Definitely going to be a very balanced, well-rounded gaming rig.

Maybe get a second Evo and run them in RAID for more better-ness. I have one if you like. I opened the box to see the contents but I'm not using it.

How much would shipping be?

Looks good (Apart from the ASRock board)

I would take this MSI over the ASRock.

A 550w psu is enough for a single GTX 970.

Around $20 it's hard to find out from were you are you'll have to double check at your nearest post office :)

I mentioned this in our private conversation but I'll post here as well so we can get some more opinions.

On the Puget Systems site (I was REALLY wanting that mineral oil case) they have an article about the draw backs of having your OS drive in RAID and the reasoning is that it adds a level of complexity that only garners minimal performance improvements since the small writes won't really be any quicker and the reads will be nearly the same as a single drive.

Plus you are counting on 2 drives not failing instead.

It would be nice to get another voice on this. Perhaps from a member that doesn't have my "Newbie" tag.

I just built my first pc very similar to this, I used the same MOBO so I would recommend a different one Tbh. This one was really odd to work with and you can notice the design flaws easily, I could barely fit my strix 970 on it without hitting the USB 3.0
