New Peripherals

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum, and I am wondering, what is the best mouse and keyboard to get? right now I have a MacBook Air, but I hope to be getting an originpc laptop as well. Thanks in advance.

 

:Note, I am a fan of RGB, and am looking for something under 200$

Just getting into computers, new on the forum, kind of a newb  :)

What keyswitch do you want for the keyboard? Do you want a full size keyboard? Tenkeyless sized? Do you want backlighting? Macros?

For the mouse, do you use a palm grip/claw/fingertip/hybrid of those?

Do you need wireless anything?

I like backlighting, full size keyboard, don't care about macros, and I am a claw/fingertip mouse user. I do not care about wireless/wired.

Well, again, what switch do you want in the keyboard? Do you want a mechanical keyboard? This will make things more expensive (still under 200 for sure though). You should take the quiz on that thread as that will help us deduce what sort of keyboard you would want.

But for the mouse, claw-fingertip works AMAZING on the Corsair M65 (or M45 if you want to save a bit of money and don't care about the extra button on the side). Can't recommend a better moues for this grip (ask @tmcclelland455 and he'll praise the thing).

I took the quiz, and it said that I would like clear, but I think that I would also be okay with a brown switch. The thing is I am used to typing on rubber dome laptop keys, which have no travel distance, and require a large amount of force to actuate. Believe it or not, I have never actually had a true mechanical keyboard before, only rubber domes. But I do not want a rubber dome keyboard, since I love the feel of mechanical keys, the 1 or 2 times I have used them.

If you're used to rubber domes then you'll get accustomed to browns alright. It'll take a couple weeks but you'll be typing a lot lighter by then.

Blues and heavy blues (greens) 

browns and heavy browns (clears) 

reds and heavy reds (blacks) 

 

So, there are heavy mechanical switches.

Also, I have 4 typewriters, and I use those from time to time, just cause they are fun. 2 of them are old, and require a lot more force. I have one manual one, one electric one, and 2 computerized ones, like with processors

Don't blacks take a lot of force as well? They pretty much are clears without the tactile bump.

Alright so know that I know which switch to get, what keyboard should I get? I wanted to get a corsair gaming one, but they are all sold out. I want RGB, and black switches, and that's pretty much it.

What mouse do you recommend? I am a claw/fingertip user, and I like a light mouse, with little wight to it.
