Both are different sockets

First the two cpus are different socket and platform. The x99 needs DDR4.

What is the budget of the new rig?

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

i7-4970k.

 

i7-5820k loses to i7-4790k in games and in all scenarios other than video editing where it beats it by only a few seconds.
