Crackling noises from PSU

Hello. For some time i've had some crackling noises from my PSU . 

i have no idea if i should be worried . so i thought i could ask here :D

yes.. be very afraid. What's the brand, model, and wattage? a clicking of a PSU usually means it's overloaded and/or about to die.

when a PSU dies, it can destroy some or all of the other components in your PC? It can also, in some cases, start a fire.

Hm... Its a Silver Power 500W

and im currently running a gtx660 ti and a i7 2700k and 8gb of ram .

 

the thing is - it´s proberly been sounding like this for at least 6 months.

 

well im proberly gonna switch the PSU . but i was actually thinking of doing a upgrade anyway.

but even tho My PSU haven't killed any components in my pc. could it then have damaged them??

 

so i dont really know if i should upgrade , or it would be better to build a whole new system.

It's not likley that the PSU damaged the componants, but it is possible.

 

If i were you, i'd look at this one. its a pretty good deal right now
