I need a recommendation for a mechanical keyboard that's quiet for a typist with very heavy fingers.

We need a board that has great build quality (it better last 5 years minimum), quiet (non-clicky switches), and high actuation pressure (80cN+). So, that basically means Cherry MX Linear Grey or SUPER BLACK.

I've tried searching for boards by switch type. That didn't get me much. Anyone know good boards made with these switch types or the equivalent Korean switches (which happen to be rated for 15 million more actuations).

Greys and super blacks aren't used on boards, I've looked they just aren't out there. You either gotta get Greens and deal with the click or get blacks and have them not be heavy enough.

@patrickjp93 you also didn't follow your thread

You could probably get away with blacks + o-rings. The distance to bottom out is decreased by quite a bit though, unless you manage to get some thin o-rings.

Cherry MX Clears maybe? 65 grams of force is still a lot.

Otherwise, Greens with o-rings.

Where do you get the O-rings? The user is making video recordings and needs as quiet as possible.

Any mx brown keyboard and some o-rings.

Brown's way too light. That's what I have and he tried it and basically crushed the keys xD.

Blacks with o-rings will be pretty much silent. The only way to make them make noise normally is by hitting them to the base of the stem. Cover the base with o-rings and you've got a silent experience!

Greens, on the other hand, are loud all the time. They have a clicky actuation point at 2MM making them clicky but not loud when bottoming out when using o-rings. Still loud nonetheless.
