Overclocking = Less Performance

Overclocked the Gpu at 1 Ghz is giving out less performance than It was previous at 950 Mhz.

Also I reformatted my harddrive and reinstalled windows 8.

Any other info you need tell me.

please post your system specs, did you also up your voltage as well?

Cpu might be throttling because of too high temperatures. Check out the temps, try to lower your voltages, etc.

I had same weird problem when i overclocked my Fx-8350 to 5.1Ghz

I think that my GTX 650 just bottlenecks.

Amd Athlon ii x4 640 Overclocked to 3.6 Ghz 1.44V

Hd 3300(Onboard) Overclocked to 1 Ghz 1.32V Stock(1.2 V)

4X2 Gb Ram 1600 Mhz 1.65V

790 GX chipset.

 

I had to sold my Gpu to buy a HDD the onboard solution was enough to play games but after reformatting it was not performing well.

Temp is always under 70 degree celcius when priming.

Voltage is also very modest at 1.44V

is the extra 50mhz really going to do much anyways? can you try clocking higher?

GPU is bumped up 300Mhz And Cpu 600Mhz.

I meant to say when I overclocked it more the results are decreased.

But will try to get 1.05Ghz

okay, also look at your temps, load, and see how much ram is being used

So you do not have an actual GPU? And you are trying to overclock the internal graphics?

Thanks For all those who posted.

When I reformatted I updated all the drivers.

I reverted back to older drivers and it worked for me don't know why but older driver run game better than the new one.

not sure if this will help but most of the cases when you overclock you dont increase power limit and when gpu tries to use power drivers will block it and tada you will experience a bottleneck if increase my gpu speed to 950 without increasing power limit i get lesser fps in games and crashes in demanding stuff(only in heaven engine so far)
