Rationale:-

Mainly for editing (hence i7 rather than a i5), but I shall also use it in my downtime to game on.

Quitness is a very important consideration, that's part of the reason the PSU is so overkill.  With the fan not coming on until half way or so hopefully the fan won't even run at all (and peak efficiency is at about 50% of rated maximum load so PSU should be working at peak efficiency).

Only have a 1080P monitor and the GTX 780s will be overkill for this display hence going with the R9 270X.

Not sure about the cooler, seems very big/expensive for my requirements have heard some horror stories about the noise produced by the H100i etc so thought air cooling but I am willing to be persuaded.

Using the Sabretooth as it has such a 'generous' warranty, but I don't fancy the 'Armour' so mark II.

The memory was chosen as it seems to clear the cooler but am more than willing to swap to  even lower profile RAM (say Corsair Vengeance LP) if the cooler so dictates

Thinking of putting the two (Fractal supplied) fans at the front and putting a Noctua 140 at the back .  Should that be enough airflow (perhaps run at less than max revs to help reduce noise), sound like a plan?

Two motoes to live by   "Sometimes there are no shortcuts"

The GPU is still a bit on the weak side, try a r9 285/r9 280.
