motherboard and overclocking ...

Go to solution Solved by 79wjd,

So there is not difference in overclock capabilities of all this motherboards ?

Not really, I have the Z97s SLI Plus myself and am sitting at 4.5ghz @ 1.250v on my 4690k.

Hello! I'm building a new gaming rig and i'm thinking what motherboard to choose-Gigabyte z97 hd3 or Asrock Z97 pro4(actually the only reason i'm thinking for Asrock is because of the blue scheme). So the question is which one should i choose? Also will those motherboards be able to overclock up to 4.6GHz(if my chip allows me to)?

I have Gigabyte r9 290. I probably won't crossfire, will just change it when it gets too old :D

Well, get whatever board looks best to you.

I will however say that I prefer the MSI Z97 G55 SLI/Z97s SLI Plus to the AsRock board as I think the blue is better (but thats just me).
