Hello,

this is my first try to make nice PC build.

So far this is my build :

CASE: NZXT H440 ( Black/Red )

CPU : i7-4790K 4.0GHz

CPU Cooler : Corsair H100i

CPU Cooler : Corsair H100

MB: Asus MAXIMUS VII HERO

RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB ( 2x8 ) DDR3-2400  -> wich is better 2x8 or 4x4 ?

SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB

SSD: Samsung 850 PRO 250GB

HDD: WD Black 1TB

GPU: Asus GeForce GTX970 4GB STRIP

Power supply: Corsair Professional 1050 W

Power supply: Corsair Professional 750W

I need advice :

 > are all build parts are compatible

 > Are there some better peace in that price range ( or cheaper )

 > Are the Corsair H100i is enought for i7-4790K 4.0GHz + overclock to 4.4

I'm open to any suggestions and criticism.

Thx.

Best regards.

The h100i is good but if you dont need corsair link and if you are going to overclock go with a h105 or 110 it has better performance. And if you have enough money to get a 850 pro or evo those are great drive and new v-nand.

All parts are compatible. Here is some advice..

2x8 8GB RAM sticks (Dual Channel) is better because it save two RAM slots which will allow you to upgrade to 32GB's in the future.

For the power supply 1050W is too much especially due to the fact that the GTX 970 is very power efficient! 750W is more than enough and will save you quite a lot of money.

The H100i will easily allow you to overclock your 4790k to 4.4Ghz and keep it stable.

Overall the build looks great, very good selection of parts. :)

Hey there MpaBkaTa,

What are you going to use that build for?
As @TheUnknown said, for gaming you could go with a good i5 or equal AMD, 2x4GB RAM and put all the rest towards the GPU.
If you are going for some editing or content creation, the i7 is a good choice and you can do 2x8GB of memory.
Concerning the HDD, depending on what you are going to use it for, I could recommend checking out either WD Blue, WD Black or WD Green. Each has their design, purpose and advantages. Here are some links:

750W is plenty of power if you are doing only one GPU, even if you are OCing the CPU. Depending on if you are adding a second GTX970 or not, you can either leave the 750W PSU or drop to a 550W.

If this helped you, like and choose it as best answer - you might help someone else with the same issue. ^_^

Thx for responce.

I'll use PC for gaming, programing and some Virtaul machines

For now it will be only 1 GPU but in future can add one more + full water cooling ring.

In that case you would do better with the i7 and more RAM.
In terms of HDD, I believe you would need something faster since you would be working with files off of it. I would suggest checking out WD Black - it has 64MB cache, 7,200 rpm and a great read/write speed. It is designed for heavier workloads and should be good for your needs as well as it has 5 years of limited warranty.
