So my R.A.T. 7 is on the fritz, it won't respond to moving sometimes. Fairly sure there's a short in the cable and since I don't know how to repair it ..so I'm looking for a new mouse. Note I don't have the original receipt so I don't think I can send it in.

So i'm looking for a mouse around $60-100ish that has some macros and isn't spewing colors. I do mostly creative content and a bit of gaming so the macros really help me and I use them constantly. I also would like to be able to use this at work so i don't want a bunch of colored art all over it. LEDS are fine if i can turn them off or if they can at least be white. I'd prefer the mouse to be black. I don't care whether its wireless or wired as long i can have another battery charged on dock in front of me or the wire doesn't fritz out like mine might have. I have zero product loyalty as far as this goes so I'm open to suggestions. Adjustable weights and ergonomics welcome but not required.

g502 looks nice but can iI take the blue off?

The blue can be turned off yes.

Beware that it's a pretty small mouse. Don't know about your hand size/preferred grip but it's something to take note of.

The hand size and grip are what I need to know about.

Also, use the quote button so people respond to you faster.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Well I'm a 6'2 adult so I would prefer something that is a bit larger, I usually palm grip my mouse.

The m65 doesn't seem too flashy but i can't tell how many macros.

Two on the left, 3 in the middle that have basic defaults configs and can be edited in software.

M65 is my favorite mouse so I can advocate that yes, you should buy one and no, that you shouldn't buy one if you use palm grip.

If you need big and palm grip-y, Logitech's G602 wins my vote. It's so freaking comfortable for that grip with big hands.

I'm using a smaller mouse at the moment and its not terrible, I do prefer the larger mice but I'm more concerned about macros being an easy location and it not being flashy, G602 looks very comfortable but I just don;t enjoy the aesthetic personally.

Then maybe a G400s? It's a smaller mouse but it's palm grip and has a couple macros on the left side and can have the top buttons reprogrammed by Logitech's gaming software.

Ohh that looks really nie. Honestly it looks like I need to extend my price range to get what I want. After using the R.A.T 7 so long i really want the ergonomic freel with adjustable weights and macros, I'd like somthing like the Razor nage but doesn't look and feel like shit. I think i just need to move to $150. I'm starting to wonder if the sensor is what failed on my mouse, otherwise I'd just grab the wirelesss version.

Heh... My two friends with one having a RAT 7, and another having an MMO 7 both had the sensors do the same thing.

Maybe look at a Logitech G502 or Corsair M65? :)

So its the sensor no the cable? Wish its sensor was better quality, I'd use this mouse forever. The corsair m65 has been mentioned a few times it seems. Are the keys actually programmable? Like the sniper button bullshit can be changed? I need to actually have my macros input words as I'm using it primarily for shortcuts as I 3D model.

So I can program it to type words not just like scroll up down or other silly things? It looks comfortable but i need functionality first. Like I would love a razor naga if it didn't feel like it was made by fisher price.

Logitech's software allows you to assign certain keys to it. I have my second macro on my G400 set to CTRL+T to open new tabs. I'm sure you could make it type words as it'll let you do so many different keypresses.

And it feels like super quality stuff, lemme tell ya. No need to worry here. (the G400 as well as the 602).
