Good lga1155 motherboard for i3 3220?

Go to solution Solved by TheSLSAMG,

I see. I've been thinking about going asus or gigabyte. the problem is from what I've seen, Asus doesn't have very many cheap boards. :/ What do you recommend?

How about this?

Or this? May need a BIOS update, likely not though since it has been a while since the launch of Ivy Bridge. I had bought an H61 ITX board and it went fine with my 3570K.

I'm building a new build out of spare parts and the motherboard is something that I don't currently have. Preferably around $100-$150.

I haven't really built around this price range before and I'm seeing a lot of Gigabyte ones that are cheap but just look trashy. are those worth it?

how's asrock? I've heard a lot of horror stories about their boards breaking and them not replacing the board.

They're not terrible, but their LGA 1155 boards were nothing special. Some consider them to be their worst boards, including myself and @Excon. We have both had bad experiences, with his drives dying and my DIMM slots dying. He had a Z77 Extreme4, I had a Z77 Pro3.

hmm, is there a big difference between the two chipsets on these boards? I'm not too familiar with the differences between chipsets, sorry.

Edit: I'm gonna go with the b75 one. Thanks a lot man!

They are as average as every other brand tbh; their 1156 and 1155 products were not astonishing, but well priced and good enough. Many users around the globe were very happy with their Extreme series, some were very dissapointed. The board I recommended has a ton of good reviews around the internet, and for $60 it has 2x 16x PCIe Slots, USB 3.0 and Sata III (6 Gbps); not bad.
