Quick question before I upgrade

Hello there!
I was wondering if you guys could help me clear out a doubt that i have before I make a purchase.
I have an old ASUS P7H55-M PRO (http://goo.gl/9YTamx) with an ancient IDE HDD and i want to upgrade to this SSD (http://goo.gl/x7sDtY). My motherboard says it can support SATA 3Gb/s and the SSD says it is SATA III 6Gb/s.

 

So, my question is: If I buy the SSD, will it work on my motherboard reducing the SSD's speed to 3Gb/s and boot windows or they are just not compatible and i should get something else?

No there's no reason to worry.

It will work on your board but the Seq read/write will be affected. That's not so much of an issue though since random reads/writes are barely affected and that's what make the SSD feel a lot faster so it's a 100% safe purchase. The bottleneck will barely be noticed

They are compatible, its just a bottleneck; A small one at that.

No there's no reason to worry.

 

SATA 3Gb/s is gigaBITS per second, not gigaBYTES (lower case 'b' versus upper case 'B'), which comes out to 375 megabytes per second.  There are plenty of SSD's that surpass that.
