is my monitor dead?

I bought a new monitor last week it's an asus vg248. The display does not turn on when I turn my pc on, but it shows up on a different screen. The power light is always on orange

checked all the cables etc?

 

if so then I would return it

I tried switching it from my display port to hdmi and nothing. Even tried plugging in my laptop
