I have only had my graphics card for a short while as i built my pc recently.

I have noticed that my graphics card doesn't seem to be getting the same levels of performance as most of the benchmarks and even user submitted benchmarks i see online.

The score from 3d mark firestrike was 8076 overall and everyone else i have seen seems to hit at least 10000.

Here is the link to the results page.

Any advice on whether these results are ok or not would be greatly appreciated. Also steps that i could take to try and improve this would also be greatly appreciated.

The rest of my system specs can be found on my profile.

EDIT:
    Key Specs

        CPU: Intel I5-4590 (stock cooler)
        Mobo: Asus Z97-A
Case: Fractal Design Arc Midi R2

I am running the most recent driver from nvidia and the card is at stock clock.

EDIT 2:
Man i forget a lot of things but i probably should mention I notice the framerates lower than most benchmarks i have seen in games and I am using a 1080p monitor

Your whole system specs are on the 3D Mark page anyway :P

If it means anything to you, this is my result with a 980 which is obviously higher than a 970, but can give you an idea if you know the average difference between a 970 and 980.

Anyway are you sure you've got the OC on your card on? Could maybe be thermal throttling.

Also, in my result neither part is Overclocked.

Thanks for the picture interesting to see the performance of a stock 980.

I forgot to mention that my card is not overclocked past stock and monitoring temps with msi afterburner while playing far cry 3 for a long time it hovered around 60 so there is no thermal throttling.
