Hi!

So it's holidays soon, and that means I'm getting alot of gifts. As my card can't max out a lot of games, I want to upgrade my card. So I did some research, and saw that the card was bigger then the space in my case.

The card is an MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G. Its 27 cm long. The black line I drew is about 27 cm.

So after I looked at my case some more I noticed there is space under my hard drive. Can I put it there?

One of the pics is alsomy PciE slots. On the second one there is this odd thing right on the top. What is it and will it get in the way? And on the right of the slots, there is this box like thing. Will that get in the way of the card? I never built or upgraded anything of this complexity.

The last pic is the card I have now. An Asus GTX 760 DC II OC

Excuse me for any spelling error's I make. English isn't my native language.

Also sorry for the bad quality pictures, I don't have an expensive phone/camera.

And if this is the wrong forum for this then also sorry about that.

You will probably need to cut into that "box" in order to install your graphics card which will compromise the structural integrity of the case and make it unsellable.

My personal advice would be to get a new case or run this beast on a cardboard box until you can get one.

Compatible with Windows 95

Can you recommend some good sub 50 euro cases?

Which website are you buying from?

EDIT:

Coolermaster N300 is a fair bet: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/cooler-master-n300-black-mid-tower-performance-case-w-o-psu

As is the Source 210: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/nzxt-source-210-elite-black-mid-tower-gaming-case-with-usb-30-w-o-psu

The Zalman Z3 Plus is definitely a contender: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/zalman-z3-plus-white-mid-tower-case-usb-30-window-side-panel-w-o-psu

Would it be a good idea to buy new case fans then too? And is it easy to change a case as i didn't built this pc, so i dont know the setup.

Having different case fans won't change very much, as long as there is air moving through the case, it's adequate for now.

The shipping on amazon is 4.70 pound + 0,50 per extra kilo. I want to spend 350 euro on the card and about 50 on the case, so i think somewhere from 30-40 euros

In that case, I'd look at the Coolermaster N300. Unfortunately, they don't sell it on Overclockers.co.uk, but I think it's the best bet for your price bracket.

Yes, that card will be fine. I wouldn't expect it to be a better performer though, it has less heatsink etc, but it will save you a bunch on a new case.

@Wadu436

Have you looked at/considered Asus's m-ITX 970 GPU?

So i did some looking at websites for pricing, and it comes down to this:

MSI with case is 60 pound more then Asus mini without case.

Is it worth the 60 pound and can i overclock the asus mini in my case without fans on the side, only on the back, and then some openings at the front to pull air. I also saw that asus's fans are more efficient then normal ones. Is this true. And i saw in linus's video that you can use a vapor chamber in all directions. Will it work in the same direction my card is facing now? (Fans down, backplate up)

Well, it doesn't really matter either way to be honest, the performance delta really isn't that much, it certainly isn't worth an extra 60 quid

And the performance delta between the mini and a zotac card acx card? Also take oc into account

Well, if you look at the mini, there is significantly less heat sink on the card, which will translate into higher temps. Since cards overclock themselves these days, you'd be expecting a slight knock (not gonna give you any specific numbers, but I'm sure you can work them out for yourself).

In terms of the Zotac card vs. the ACX card, they are both much the same, except the obvious difference that the Zotac card looks really garish and the ACX one is more refined.
