Gpu upgrade question.

I think I want to upgrade my two 670's in SLI before they are worth absolutely nothing. I'm happy with my performance for now but I know that won't last. I think my plan is to get a single card with the same performance as the 670's and add another card when needed in a few years.

What gpu do you think is roughly the same performance as 2 way sli gtx 670's?

980 is closer to 670 sli

Good. So it won't be a step down. I was thinking about 970's because the cost for sli looks a lot better... I just don't want to hate it till I get a second card. I have no patience for crap performance.
