Would this power adapter work?

Go to solution Solved by Aniallation,

I thought so....

Time to look around for another one...

EDIT: would it still work?

Yes it would work perfectly if it fits. The amps being higher then the original power adapter is a good thing. It's like having a PSU with more watts then you'll pull from it.

Got a Asus MS238H that seems to have stopped working, but the computer still detects it. I think the power brick is dead so I'm planning on buying another one to test.

That doesn't make sense. The amps are higher but the amps of a power adapter can not be "too high". If a power adapter can provide 5A of power and the equipment only draws 2A, it's perfectly fine and only 2A will be drawn from the adapter. It's like a PSU with 500W on a system that will draw 200W. Amps multiplied by voltage is wattage, so you can't have a power adapter with "too much" amperage, just like you can't have a PSU with "too many" watts.
