Corsair Spec 03 Cooling solution?

Hey everybody! first post yey ... >.>

so, i have a Corsair Carbide Spec Series 03 case (looks sexy il post a pic) and i have a devils canyon 4690k cpu. on top of that beastly cpu i have CM Evo 212 cooler. at the MOMENT ! ... im at 4.4GHz @ 1.175v(underclocked to 1.160 by PSU) very stable no crashes ever for the last 3 weeks. everything runs beautifuly well.

but i am considering getting a new cooler. i was told the Phanteks TC14 is best air cooler out there. however that will not fit in my case!!! [sad face] so i want some opinions / suggestions ! plox and thnx!

i want to upgrade the cooler for OC purposes and better looks aswell. the EVO sticks in the window too much altho does very good job at keeping the cpu cooled.

are there AIO's that fit in the corsair spec 03? btw, the 212 is a pretty good cooler

well 240 aio can fit. and max height for air cooler is 157(corsair advised) but 159(evo 212 ) fits very well with an inch left room.

i just want to know what is the best buy for performance.and maybe similar or lower noise than this evo 212

The best choice is to change fans on EVO. The 120mm coolers are pretty much even on performance and your case doesn't fit 140mm coolers.

i know it doesnt fit a 140mm cooler :) thats what ive said in first post ^_^ 159mm max cpu cooler height. the cpu cooler also must be taken in consideration about the heatpipes bending from the cpu to the cooler thats like 20mm :)

but you said chnge fans on evo... okay but , ive read that the default fan should not be changed? because that fan is designed to keep it cool and others wont cut it ? i only have 2xAF120 fans left in new unopened box. silent edition , but they blow hell of a lot of cool air into my case right now and exaust at the back as you saw in pics.

so on the topic, there is really no better cooler that will fit in my case? ive read the h100i is useless waste of money , and this evo beats it even. so is that true or not ? if that h100i can drop temps down by 10 ish i would be very happy with that !

AIO would be better in performance but I thought you wanted more silent cooler. Generally aftermarket air coolers are more quiet than AIOs since air coolers only produce fan noise.

As for changing fans, you should get PWM fans if you are going to change them. Its ok to do it. Any 120mm fan will fit the cooler and even 3pins are fine and can be controlled. But best would be to get PWM fans.

yeah i do like quiet. right now all the af120 fans i can hear at idle but its just like wind outside on a normal day so its not loud or anything its very very torelable.

do AIO really procude more noise? the pump itself makes alot noise or how?

yeah i tried plugging my AF fans in cpu2 header but the fan ran at max speed and mobo control didnt work because its only 3pin. so i have to get 4pin fan if il change the evo fan. but i dont see point wasting money on that particular part? if it wont increase temp drops?

also , ive foudn this ---

his temps dropped by 10 ish , is that for everyone i wonder or just gotta be lucky like with cpu overclocking ? :D

right now for me .. idle temps are at 25-28C  and full load at 48-52C

I haven't got experience from AIOs myself, but reading users posting here and complaining about pump noise is really common. I don't know if its that big difference in the end. Those might be people who get annoyed easily about noise.

Changing fans will effect more on noise than performance. Again, you have already good cooler in terms of performance. Changing fans or running it in push-pull won't change normal load temps that much. But that depends also on how much air the current ones move against the new ones.

well the AF120 has something at 66CFM airflow i believe? but nevertheless... i had my case open few days ago with these fans running at 800rpm only... and GOD it was freezing just sitting near the case... my hands went purple red in 2 minutes it was that cold with those fans and the case window off (i had to redo my led strip on the window) ...
