So i overclocked my intel i7 2700k following this guide here for mt as rock z77 mobo. I followed this guide here step for step as i was relatively new to OC'ing. http://www.overclock.net/t/1198504/complete-overclocking-guide-sandy-bridge-ivy-bridge-asrock-edition. The only thing i manually entered was 45 into the all core ratio for a 4500mhz overclock. I didnt touch the dram configuration. This guide was for a i5 2500k but after running prime 95 for about 4 runs i havnt ran into any issues. Is this a safe overclock? How can i test the stability of it?

Use a CPU stress test and run it for 24 hours. If it doesn't have issues, it's stable.

IDK anything about overclocking, but if you followed a guide your probably did it right.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

A bit contradictory...

All I know about overclocking is that to test if it's stable you have to stress test for 12+ hours.

Well you don't have to, but it's probably a good idea.

I literally just updated my overclock on my 3570K using that guide as reference and as long as you followed the guide and got the voltage as low as you could and it has been stable then it should be good :)

PS: I got my 3570K to 4.4GHz at 1.112V in case you were wondering.

My Current Build:

Intel i5 3570K @ 4.4GHz 1.11V, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, Asrock Z77 Extreme4, Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz, Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, Asus GTX 760 DCII Overclocked, Corsair CX600M

im just not sure if the voltages are right. I left it on the Offset Voltage: +0.005v.

That should be fine but you might be able to get it lower. Personally I pulled of an Offset Voltage of -0.020V.

Just messing with you.

And stress testing is always good. Temp wise and stability wise.

Well i just ran Dragon age inquistion as a sort of "stress test" with a OC'd Gtx 970 at the same time. I actually got a significant fps boost after the cpu overclock like 6-10fps. The cpu temps also reflect this increase in performance. before i would get about 40-45C now im getting 55-62ish C. This is with a H212Evo Cooler

im currently running the prime 95 stress test and im getting about 75C. I switched to a -0.020 Offest voltage and its seems to be using a stable 1.312 voltage during the test. Is this considered stable and is the temp too hot?

That's a pretty good load temp and you will probably never reach that temperature in normal use. Personally the only way I consider an OC to be stable is if you can use it in real-world situations like playing game and web browsing.
