Like the title says, Have Open Broadcasting Software installed and when I open the program my frames go from 160-200 down to a measly 45-50. Any reason for this? My cpu usage is only using two cores and my gpu usage dropped to like half

Hallelujah! Someone who follows their threads. :) *gives high five* :)

I don't personally use OBS at the moment, however, you might try checking the OBS settings, you might have something set too high. Just a guess.

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

yeah, I would try lower quality settings, lower bitrate, make sure multithreaded optimizations are on.

what it comes down to is just a weak cpu. I have the same issues with my G3258 even with the overclock.

Haven't used OBS much, but the preview also reduces performance, so you might have to disable that.

Okay, Ill try disabling the preview when I get home, but the problem accours when its just open, not recording or anything. and when I close it my fps jumps back to normal...could this be a cpu utilization issue?

Well, if any of your HW is 'on the edge', obs might be the thing that pushes it too far (like, if your os+game already uses 90% gpu, an additional 30% would slow down both. As Example.)

That could be easily identified:

Monitor your basic/idle, gaming and Obs'-loads (a.E. with the Taskmanager) - if any of those hog too much resources, it'll be obvious - and it'll rule out other sources, like background-apps, as culprit.

AMD Game DVR uses the GPU VideoCodecEngine (VCE) to do the work, almost non-existant performance hit.

Raptr is shit overall, but that ONE function, is nice and great for your needs.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

I would love to use it but the audio quality and misc. things are garbage. ever since an update my voice peaks and game audio clips and theres a massive delay...maybe ill just have to wait till it fixes it

Plenty of people on their forums having issues too, and the forum Raptr people are VERY quick to sort these guys out with fix's.
