Not hard but one does have to be careful and patient. There are numerous build videos you can watch that will help.

Is it easy to damage the parts?

If one ignores precautions with respect to static electricity then electronics are very easy to damage. However the precautions are very simple - ground yourself or get rid of any discharge before handling parts, especially the cpu, gpu, motherboard, and memory modules. One can also buy an inexpensive wrist / ankle strap for this purpose.

Other than that, it is a good idea to avoid touching surfaces with electronics on them and interface contacts. I like to wear a glove - cotton is preferable, latex will do. This keeps skin oils off these surfaces as the oils can degrade parts over time. The underside of the cpu and the motherboard cpu socket are particularly sensitive and should never be touched.
