Steam creating cache files taking forever? Is this normal?

Is this based on your internet or what or servers? 

 

Steam seems so slow when it comes to creating and downloading. Origin i can click install/download game and it starts download instantly. Steam i need to wait a minute before download even starts on a fast ssd why is it taking so long to do it!

Yeah steam takes a few seconds before it starts it's normal.

this is because steam creates a cache file the same size as the game being downloaded, this takes several seconds or even minutes depending on the game, nothing abnormal :) hope this helped
