can not get a stable overclock

so i have a g1 gaming 970 and i can not get a stable over clock for shit.  right now im down to +80 on the core and +125 on the ram and its still crashing windows in CoD:AW  it will get through fire strike @ 100 and 130 core/memory respectively but thats it.  there has to be a problem because for a g1 with really good chips, this is a joke it tried to up the voltage and that made things worse!

 

any ideas people?

Did you max out the power target and temp target?

Those 2 only affect throttle, not crashing

What program are you using to overclock?

 

How much did you increase your voltage?

 

+30 but anything less and the voltage didnt change. the g1 has a limt in the bios that only allows +12mv i think and i am using msi afterburner

no where near....70% on power and 64c on temp

fair enough if this was an msi card but the G1 is meant to be the best for over clocking and this is a donkey

Doesn't work. Overclocking is not guaranteed. Hell the G1 already goes from 1080 to 1370 or so

I bought the non Gaming edition of the gigabyte gtx 970 and I used MSI after burner. I managed to get +185MHZ on the core clock and +550MHZ on the memory. I didnt try to go further since this was stable but i could probably push the card even futher. Hottest it has gotten was 65C and i didnt even touch the voltage. Just put it to 112% power limit
