hold on to Win 7 till Win 10

 

 

but wait till Win 10 is like a few months old before you jump to Win 10 for Microsoft to fix any bugs on Win 10

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

@Jgeorge610: Bear in mind that if you upgrade to Windows 10, you'll have to do a clean install. It won't be that bad. It'll be quite a while until it is released though - see how long you can wait. There's also a chance that it won't be free for Windows 7 users - no one knows at this stage.
