Going to Canada! ;-)

So I will go to Canada next year in May and stay for a little over three months. I will stay in a VERY small town in Nova Scotia with friends first and then go to Vancouver to do some woofing. The last twwo weeks of my stay I wanna go to Bremerton near Seattle, since my former host family lives there.

In case you are wondering why I do this, well I am on my way to becoming a teacher we have to stay in an English speaking country for at least three months during our studies.

I figured there are some Canadians here. Any suggestions what I should do while I am in your country? Anything to look out for? What is something you have to do while in Canada, and I am not talking about stalking Linus. ;-)

Although I will stay pretty close to Vancouver during June and July and I think that's where they are working right?

Nah. Not gonna happen.

i mean I will live on a farm in a spare room most of the time, so not really the best place to be gaming. I wish I could, but no. Also there is a luggage problem. I mean I want to stay there for three months, so I wil need quite some stuff and I have to be as mobile as possible, which means I am taking my BIG backpack.

I will just take my Laptop, which is capable of some light gaming.

Most Canadians are super cool people, however not all of them, it's just like any other place some of them are assholes and specially if you're intentionally or unintentionally dumb. So don't think "Oh we're in Canada I can just walk around on my own in the bad part of town it's cool!" Cause well it's not you will get mugged and such.

Lol I know this is pretty local so I don't expect anyone to know this. But yeah what you said is true. There's an area/intersection in Toronto notoriously known as Jane & Finch where "people leaving their house unlocked" doesn't really apply there.

@mapegl You should check out Rick Mercer's videos. Wherever he travels in Canada always makes me wanna travel outside my little Toronto bubble.

In Vancouver that would be East Hastings: Some years ago they decided to close down a mental institution I think on an already not so hot part of downtown so that's a heads up area as well since it's actually close by to skytrain, train and ferry stations for going to North Vancouver (which I highly recommend, very pretty up there)

Nova scotia seems cool, never been there tough. I went in British Columbia once, can't tell for Vancouver area but i've been in the rockies, you'll have fun, but keep in mind everything is expensive in Vancouver and British Columbia in general.

Thank you very much. I will do so! ;-)

I wish I could visit Toronto as well, because I know people there too, but that would get too expensive. :/

It's not that bad. I've been there a pile of times.

That's what I am hoping for! ;-)

Well I actually work out quite a lot, but that's definitely a different kinda workout. I expect it to be hard on me. And I want that. I need a break from all the studying and such and really just want to do something practical at least for a little bit.

I really miss it. After 12 hours of work during harvest season i slept like a log xD

It's practical muscle^^ We had a guy that came to work on our farm once that worked out quite a bit. But even he was sore afterwards
